Sunsets in the Dominican Republic
December 18, 2015
One of the things I love most, travelling and at home, is watching sunrises and sunsets. For me most special are sunrises at sea. I love the dreamtime between the dark night and the first rays of light. A new day starts and everything seems possible.
My favorite place in The Netherlands for sunrise watching is Vlieland, an island in the Waddenzee. I spend as much time as possible on this little island. But I also enjoy watching sunrises in the Munnikenland from my castle office at work. Earlier this year I saw beautiful sunsets in very special places. In october in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan and in february in Silver Bank, a marine reserve approximately 110 kilometres north of the coast of the Dominican Republic. I lived on a boat for a week to swim with whales and saw the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Here is my Silver Bank top ten:
Where did you see your best sunset this year?
