Dive sites in Dahab Egypt: Bannerfish Bay
July 27, 2017
Bannerfish Bay is located in Dahab Egypt, just right of the Lighthouse dive site. This dive site is named after the schools of Bannerfish cruising the bay. Diving here, you will use the same entry point as for the Lighthouse, site but you will turn to the left immediately after descending.
Bannerfish Bay is a good site for underwater photography. A large seagrass area is abundant with small underwater life: seahorses and rare ghost pipefish are hiding in the seagrass. Wth some luck you will see the resident turtle having lunch. But besides seagrass you can also find sandy slopes and reefs here, both rich with marine life.
Right in the middle of this all you will see a small car wreck and several tyres. The tyres and clay pots offer houses for eels, octopuses and anemones. This shallow dive site is rich in biodiversity. Bannerfish Bay offers a nice dive for all levels of divers. It’s also often used for training purposes: there is even a buoyancy park.
