Dive sites in Dahab Egypt: Islands

The Islands dive site lies in El Qura Bay just outside the town of Dahab. This is one of my favorite sites for photography due to the impressive landscape. The name Islands comes from three under water islands that are connected by lagoons, valleys and labyrinths. I love to explore the labyrinths and look out for the varied marine life that inhabits the holes and cracks at these dephts.
I was told that this impressive landscape was formed during an earthquake 10 years ago. Huge sections of the reef collapsed. The holes and cracks that were created during the earthquake are rapidly filling up with renewed coral growth. That’s what makes this site worth diving: the large amounts of soft and hard corals in extremely good conditions. The colors are vivid and the invading sunlight creates a magical atmosphere. And besides that, this stunning dive site has every reef fish you can imagine.
