Swimming with wild dolphins in the Red Sea in Egypt
June 3, 2016
Swimming with wild dolphins is pure magic. There are no words to describe how it feels to look into a dolphins eye. I was so lucky to swim with wild dolphins in different parts of the world. I snorkled with atlantic spotted dolphins in the warm indigo waters around Bimini Bahamas. In Hawaii I met spinner dolphins, spotted dolphins and bottlenoses, all in one swim. The spinners were happy and jumped high out of the water, a true spectacle. But for me, the best place to have relaxing encounters with wild dolphins in their natural habitat is the Red Sea in Egypt. The spinner dolphins around Marsa Alam in Egypt are more playful and more open to connect with human swimmers than I have experienced anywhere else in the world. More than once different pods of dolphins hurried towards the boat when they realised we were getting into the water. Every dolphin swim is special. Spontaneous meetings, all on the dolphins terms ofcourse, end in playful interaction and life changing experiences.
Here is an impression of one week dolphin magic. I hope to experience a beautiful dolphin time again this week, when I will stay at the dolphin reef with a trip organised by www.zwemmenmetwildedolfijnen.nl.
